Toys for car for 13mo dd

My dd gets really tetchy in the car, even on short journeys and I think it's because she's just bored!

Can anyone recommend any toys that maybe hook over the back of the passenger seat? I'm not sure if I dreamt of some sort of soft keyboard they can play with their feet?

Any recommendation appreciated as fed up of resorting to dummy to calm her and even that is starting to fail lately!

at that size we started to use the leapfrog little touch leap-pad with our dc, also toddler story and rhyme cd's, the naffer and cheesier the better - wheels on the bus and all that (drives you bonkers but hey it's better than a niggling tot!) I also used to attach the buggy books to their car seats, which have a sort of springy keyring on them. DD was a lover of the taggies stuff and would happily sit there with a taggy book and do all the touchy feely sensory stuff with it. Just one other thing, have a bit of a think around / outside the box (scuse cliché) DS1 was always a fusspot in cars, it turns out that he hates bright light and the sun, even in winter because it's low, really bugs him. He has learned to tolerate it and is older now, but figure out whether there are any 'environmental' things, including the car seat or belts, that's causing more of an issue. Maybe get a child view mirror or a window mobile (again, I had these things stuck on the car window and back of passenger seat) Try sitting or even riding in the back of the car for a first-hand experience?!!
Good luck!!
