DS is sad that his teddy isn't real. Is there such a thing as a real like teddy?

errr Confused does he want a real bear?
Or something to look after like a baby?

FairyFay · 04/11/2010 19:42

Have you looked at the furreal pets

phipps · 04/11/2010 19:44

I am sure he would love a real bear Grin.

We have some fur real toys already but I haven't looked at them for a bear but will now.

Thanks for the link HMe, will look now.

At build a bear you can add a heartbeat to one of their bears. Not tried it myself.

If he loves his teddy enough it becomes real. Well, that's what it says in the Velveteen Rabbit!

phipps · 04/11/2010 19:51

But his little face when he realised he wasn't real Sad. He had been so sweet. He was surprised that teddy was still asleep in his bed when he got home from school Grin.

I would love one like the one in the film AI, that would be so fun.

southeastastra · 04/11/2010 20:12

nookie bear

HystericalMe · 04/11/2010 20:19

Maybe he wants a pet.

HystericalMe · 04/11/2010 20:30

on second thoughts that AI teddy is much better than a pet

phipps · 04/11/2010 20:33

We have loads of pets and he definitely wants his teddy bear to be real.

Open him up and sow in a heart, thats what they do in the bear factory, but you have to buy their own ones.

Buy the Velveteen Rabbit book to read to him, its a beautiful, beautiful story about how a boy loves his toy rabbit so much he becomes Real. Be warned, its bittersweet - I can't read it to DS without a wobble.

Teaandcakeplease · 08/11/2010 10:29

I was just about to suggest the Velveteen Rabbit, I loved it as a child but Taffeta beat me to it Smile

Man, he'll be crushed when he finds out about Father Christmas
