First pedal bike - anyone used bikes2udirect or Winstanleys?

I'm buying a first pedal bike for DD and want something like a Raleigh Molly or Concept "Bubbles". Has anyone bought either of these and can recommend them?

I also don't know whether to order online with Winstanleys or Bikes2udirect (for a good price) or just go to Halfords in case there's a problem.
Anyone used the ones mentioned?
(Halfords have already sold me a broken bike helmet which they didn't bother to offer to help fit so am not that keen on them)

Are there any quality independent bike shops in your area? You could get a good quality bike and customer service that way.

Both Winstanley's and Bikes2udirect are okay far as I know. But not as good as a real shop, iyswim (so all the usual potential problems of mail order items).
