Toys for 4 year old twins

i am the process of selling on lots of my kids toys - teletubbies, little people, that kind of thing. What kinds of new things should I look out for to stimulate their imaginations (I am a great one for second hand and car boot sales)? What do you think is a good toy list for 4 year olds - one of each gender?

What you need to think about is what they each like to do. You could go for the obvious choices lie: wooden garages; dolls' houses; train sets (this would be a great option for them playing together - my 7 year old girl and 3 year old boy love playing trains together).
I also have a toy shop (Little Nut Tree Toys, in Wilmslow) and these are probably the most popular toys that are bought for this age group.
Other items would be puzzles - which are great for colour recognition and hand eye coordination. And, also, looking out for toys that develop team playing - so your basic games like dominoes, Bingo, Lotto etc where they are looking to recognise colour, shape / form, numbers etc.
They are our best sellers - however, my daughter who is 7 (nearly 8) has never been a great one for toys (shame with a mum who owns a toy shop and would give in to whimsical demands... not really) - however, she has always loved being creative: pens, crayons, paints, glitter - so you could set up a craft area for them if they prefer tham type of play.
I think the most important thing at 4 is seeing what they are interested in as their individual play styles will definitely be showing through by now.
