Yes, they are fab. We have friends who have the Rothan and the Cnoc for their DCs and we got the Beinn for DS on the strength of that. All great bikes IMO.

oooh thanks. Did you just order them on-line, or go to the shop direct for proper sizing? what sort of price did you pay if you don't me asking?

We got instructions on how to measure DS (don't remember whether they are just there on the website or whether we were sent them specifically when we asked) and then phoned up to talk through the options as he was a bit borderline size-wise. I think then as we were on the phone to them anyway we ordered over the phone. I don't remember how much we paid exactly but it was list price as per the site. Some of them do come up in reasonable condition on eBay but TBH tend to go for about 80% or so of the new price anyway.

Thank you. I know they are not cheap, trying to get mum to contribute half... Mmmm... that will be a trick n a half LOL.

DS1 has a Beinn 20 which we got him for Christmas last year.

We measured him as per the online instructions and ordered by telephone. We are at the wrong end of the country to go to the storeGrin

The bike is great, DS1 loves it, finds it much easier to use than previous cheaper bikes and the gears are very easy for him to use.

My ds has an Isla Rothan and its absolutely fantastic! They are super light and designed especially for whichever age grop they are aimed at. Once you have finished with it, they also let you trade them in for the next one up.

We dont live too far from Ludlow where the showroom is so went in, and the assistants were great-showing my son how to ride, and us what we should be telling him. Ludlow is a nice historic town, so could be nice for a day out anyway if you dont live too far away.

Roo83... does the store sell second hand ones, then?

Not sure if they sell 2nd hand ones, but I'm guessing they must, as they used it as a selling point for us that we could trade it in and get the next size up.

Give them a call, they were all really friendly and helpful so will be able to advise if you can get a 2nd hand one.

I heartily recommend the isla bikes!

Dd2 has a Beinn 20 Large and dd3 has a Rothan.

Both are so light and incredibly well made. Lots of admiring looks wherever we go too Grin

I'd recommend them to anyone!
