Wii novice. Buying one for Xmas but what do I buy

Please help. We have nothing like a wii or playstation etc and I'm baffled by bundles and terminology.Does the wii just plug into the tv set. Do I need wireless (have it but is it essential?). Can you move it from one set to another.

So I need a console but what do I also have to have - what's better - the remote or the nanchuk or are you supposed to have both?

If someone coul;d rephrase this inot something simple and comprehensible I'd be really grateful. Any particularly good places to buy one? And finally, do you reckon I'd get a better price now or nearer to xmas?

You need both the remote and the nunchuck for certain games and just the remote for others. the nunchuck doesn't work alone.

The wii just plugs into the TV but depending upon what tv you have you may need a HDMI cable. I think that is only for really new HD Tv's though. We didn't one for ours, but my Dad for his fancy pants TV.

Get one ordered NOW. They will all be sold out in a few weeks time and near xmas the price of the bundles will be extortionate.

Thanks. I have four kids - would you buy 4 remotes and 4 nunchuks or would you just get a couple of each?

You get one remote with console, but if they are all going to be playing together (especially on games like Mario Kart and Sports Resort) then you will a set for each child. So that would be three more remotes and four nunchucks.

You don't need a HDMI for a Wii it's standard def and it comes with a phono to scart adapter.
