Edinburgh paranormal tales

After spending a week in Edinburgh in hoping there are lots of people who can share any paranormal experiences they have had in the city. I was with my young family so spooky activities were kept to a minimum but I would love to go back and explore the darker side. We did walk around greyfriars kirkyard and say the black mausoleum. Anyone done the tour in the dark? We also did the ghost bus (the kids could cope with that because it was funny). We went into the churchyard off Princes St (St Cuthbert's?) and the tour guide talked about the photos people took of the Watchtower which show faces in the window. Nothing in my pics but my husbands are a bit spooky. The sceptic in me thinks there must be reflections but would love to hear thoughts. We also did Mary Kings Cloee. It was great. There was a little girl in our group who said she saw a little boy waving at her (in the room where the toys are left for Annie). That was spooky and the guide just replied 'interesting'.
Didn't do the vaults but I hear they are supposedly haunted.
So please, share your spooky Edinburgh experiences.

Whenever I’ve been there I’ve not seen anything but the vaults are supposed to be haunted.

Not been to the vaults but my ex husband came back from the Covenanters Prison with a scratched face.

I've heard about this happening. Very strange.
I loved greyfriars Kirkyard and felt quite at peace there (in the daytime lol).

I must say, we stayed in an apartment in fountainbridge. It was great but full of strange old furniture and I didn't relax or sleep well at all. Eerie. But the rest of the family were fine. 😂

I'd definitely do the vaults next time.

I haven’t seen much when there but I did have an old flat in Robertsons close where I thought I’d heard my boyfriend come in from work and I felt the floor behind me got pressed down and expected my bf to hug me. There was no one there and I looked out the back of my flat and saw one of the ghost tours come out the vaults. It also had a room behind a fireplace which was super cold! Only thing I’ve experienced in Edinburgh

I lived there for years and did the Vaults tour maybe half a dozen times. They are spooky for sure, but nothing odd ever happened in any of the ones I went on.

I lived in Edinburgh in the mid 00s, in block of flats built in the 1930s. It was a beautiful art deco building, with long corridors and thick walls. Despite having neighbours on all sides, we never heard heard them.

Except for an odd thing that would happen when I was in the bathroom. The bathroom was in between the kitchen and the spare room, and had a wooden ceiling like a sauna. Through the ceiling I would sometimes hear a woman talking. It sounded like an old recording, crackly and distant. She was speaking in German and had a quivery voice, like that of someone at least in their 90s. Not so strange, could have been someone listening to a record or a tape.

Except whenever I would call my then boyfriend, now husband in to listen, there would be only silence. No one else ever heard it, even though I did most evenings. There are of course all manner of logical explanations, but it always felt strange to me.
