Do you believe in these?

Do you believe in Angel numbers? I'm not normally wooo or spiritual but for the past 3 or so months I've seen angel numbers constantly. Not just clocks but in day to day life. To begin with I didn't have a clue what it could mean but now I think it's to do with me wanting to change my career and going to uni. Obviously this is a massive life change. I've been thinking about this for a while before I started seeing the numbers. I've also seen a few white random feathers over the past 6 months.

So do you believe in them? Have you seen any and had as life changing experience soon after?

No

And feathers come from birds, not angels.

DS likes it and comments when he sees a number sequence, will wait for a clock to tick to one. Definitely not angels though, most likely due to his autistic traits. We also have white feathers but they are from birds not angels.

I think it’s complete bollocks however if it makes you happy then crack on and I say the same about religion .

I always wonder what makes people who see signs think they are so special? If god/ angels / whatever existed (which I don't believe), why would they devise clever codes and signs to encourage a random person to change jobs or whatever? What about the hundreds of millions of other people on the planet faced with difficult choices? And why not just come out and say it rather than this cloak and dagger stuff?

You see what you want to see, just like if you decide to cut your hair short for example you will suddenly notice all the other women with short hair around you ; there aren't any more of them, you are just paying more attention.

Youve asked on the wrong forum op. Mn is full of miserable twats people who dont believe in anything and therefore it cannot exist.

I see things like this all time time. Often wake at the same time in the middle of the night. So does ds. Nothing good has come of it. Take note angels i need some luck!

I think some people are being right arseholes to you OP. Bet they feel better for it because of their sad pathetic little real lives.

I don’t believe in it but I do randomly see white feathers falling around me. I never knew about the significance of white feathers until I read about it on here (still not 100% sure what they’re supposed to mean), but it’s nice to even think for a fleeting moment that they’re meant to be a good sign. I’ll probably keep seeing repeating numbers too now I’ve read it on here 😆.

Life is so shit sometimes, there’s nothing wrong in believing something to give you a little bit of peace and hope. But don’t make life changing decisions based on a feather and number. Weigh up the good and bad and follow your instincts.

Of course I don't believe angels direct us with cryptic number sequences and feather messages. Utter madness.

Look into your options, OP. Weigh them up and make your own informed decisions.

I think just because someone believes in something then there's no need to mock and say I'm off my head. You may believe in some thing that I don't. But it's better to agree to disagree.

I'm not making a life changing decision based on this. I've been looking into it in detail not just changing my life on a whim. I'm just saying that since looking into this more then I've seen it more.

I am genuinely curious as to which particular 'Angel' told which particular person that 'Angel numbers' were a means of communication and what the numbers actually mean. Does anyone actually know or did someone just come up.with the idea and wrote a book and people actually believed it?
If you see one of these numbers does it mean yes or no? How do you decide if it's positive or negative?
If you are agonising over whether to change jobs but you aren't sure if it's a good idea or not how the heck do you decide if some random number means yes or no?
If you make the wrong decision do you blame the 'angels'?
If you look at a clock and it's not the magic number does that mean the angels don't give two?

Random numbers are just numbers. Even if angels existed in the accepted way why on earth would 'angels' be the slightest bit interested in going up and down to earth from heaven to 'woo' random clocks on a regular basis? Considering the population of earth they would be like flipping yoyos😀 Or are they on constant 'clock duty' whizzing around down here when they could be living it up in heaven?
Genuinely interested in how this started and how it actually works.

Maybe make your own decisions and trust your instincts or research rather than depend on magic numbers?
Do what's best for you if you want it go for it and best of luck.

Oh and do people living by the sea have a greater number of angels hovering around as white feathers are bloody everywhere.🤔

It's ok to take comfort from things remembering a loved one that doesn't impact on anything else, its a nice thing if it helps you. But basing your whole life on a clock? Just no.

I'm just saying that since looking into this more then I've seen it more.

You will. That's the way the human brain works. Like if you buy a certain car suddenly you'll see them everywhere.

If you want to believe then that's your right. Just because I don't I'm not going to call you nasty names.

I think often we underestimate the amount of coincidences there are in day to day life.

Different bird species moult at different times throughout the year so year round there are always birds who are going through various stages of a total or partial moult. Various predators catch and kill birds year round so this is another source of feathers out and about or that have drifted inside through doors or windows.

If you are focussed on something for example certain number patterns or feathers, words etc, then your brain will be seeking out and noticing them instead of ignoring them. So you think there are far more of these things than there actually are.

So as someone who always looks for the likeliest reason for everything, I’d not give these phenomena any credence. In moderation they’re harmless and can bring comfort to people going through loss, uncertainty or stress.

You can wake at 3:33 am any morning if you like. Just by telling yourself to do so before you sleep and having a clock or watch somewhere in the room. Nothing special about that, other than the human mind which is pretty awesome on its own. Angels not necessary.

Milkfreemoomum I totally get what you mean. Until my mil was dying/died was a very difficult time for our family I didn't beleive in any of this but so many lil things happened over this time I took great comfort in thinking an Angel was looking out for me and still is. Yes maybe total rubbish but I believe most religion is but I respect those that believe and respect their views and hope they respect mine. Whos to say mine or theirs beleifs are total rubbish but they help me and others when we feel there is no hope x

There’s an old saying “When people stop believing in God, they start believing in anything”. Hence the rise in all the woo and dippy shit - it’s people trying to fill a spiritual vacuum in their lives.
If you read your Bible, you’ll see that angels are messengers of God and they appear as themselves, not via cryptic clock codes!
And they weren’t wispy white things in a sheet with tinsel wings, either - they had terrifying flaming eyes like burning coals! Which was why their opening remark was nearly always “Fear not..” !
By all means pray to God for help and guidance in your life and career decisions, and also consult the appropriate experts for advice, but don’t make important choices on the basis of random numbers. Or expect MN posters to agree it’s a sensible way to run your life.

Honestly, OP, switch on your critical thinking. Also, I’m an atheist, but even you can surely see the difference between a religion which (a) requires its followers to live up to a certain code of behaviour — at its best, to be tolerant, just, and charitable — and (b) which might require grappling with complex philosophical concepts such as free will, and on the other hand, the minimal effort/engagement with the world involved in noticing feathers and repeating numbers and thinking this is meaningful outside the specific personal meanings you attach to them, because some pastel-hued blog from an ‘Angel Practitioner’ told you it was?

Sincerely, good luck with going to university and retraining for a new career, OP, but you’ll need to engage your critical thinking on your degree course. Go for it.

Seeing a feather, forget me knots, a Robin are all harmless things that we can allow ourselves to believe are comforting.

However I don’t get the numbers thing. Angels existed before numbers were invented I would have thought and how did they communicate that they were to w associated with number formats?

Would the numbers thing just simply be superstition along with not walking under a ladder, saying hello to a magpie and saluting it and thinking black cats are lucky etc?

Report
Deadringer · 06/10/2019 11:56

But how would people know what numbers are significant to Angels (if they exist). And why would angel feathers look just like ones from common species of birds? And if Angels aren't visible to humans, why would their feathers be? I am not being nasty, I would really like to understand why people believe in this stuff when it's so illogical.

Why is a belief in god any more valid than a belief in anything else? Hmm

Believe in whatever makes you happy, whatever makes life easier, whatever geta you through hard times.

Be that a god, karma, fate, angels or whatever else. Its not hurting anyone.

What is hurting people is being dissmissive and horrible on the internet and likely in RL.

dead believing in a man in the sky who controls everything and made the world single handedly in 7 days is illogical but there we are.

I am not being nasty, I would really like to understand why people believe in this stuff when it's so illogical.

Believers never answer questions about how or why this stuff ‘works’, how they believe it operates, who first ‘taught’ humans this secret code, or why certain cryptic ‘signs’ are imbued with meaning by a higher power but other equally random and cryptic signs are not.

Instead they just bleat that people are horrid and miserable for not unquestioningly accepting an irrational and unfounded belief system.
