Just for laughs
As the title suggests. What's the stupidest things someone's asked you?
I work in food and the level of stupidity from customer never ceases to amaze me!

Working in the Spar many years ago.

Student bloke comes up to the till with a kids yogurt and asks if it's OK for adults to eat them.

My DF came into a sandwich shop I was working in and asked if there were any sandwiches. There was a whole wall of prepackaged sandwiches to his left.

Customer - Can I not have breadcrumbs on my lasagne as I'm allergic to gluten
Me -ok but the pasta in the lasagne contains gluten
Customer - oh that's fine I'm only allergic to bread gluten

Customer waiting for a chicken to be cooked in a rotisserie, I said it would be about 15 minutes.

"Can you not just take it out now, it'll be okay."

Where I work we have a lot of residential people. At the start of the year we get a list of allergens.
My person favourites are....
Vegetarian but will eat fish and chicken
So basically you don't like beef or pork
Or the selective gluten frees. Depending on what's for dinner 🤔

Not retail but a member of the public once asked me "what's the difference between 'O' and 'zero' anyway? They're the same?"

catlady34 · 12/08/2018 21:47

A colleague once got asked if the buffalo wings came from real buffalos.

faceremovinghaircream · 12/08/2018 21:48

iLoveFoood · 17/11/2018 21:23

azulmariposa · 26/11/2018 23:35

Whilst working in a photographers: "how long does the one-hour service take?" My reply was usually two hours. Hmm

CoughCoughSneeze · 26/11/2018 23:40

I used to work in a computer shop and we were regularly asked for white ink cartridges.

jay55 · 26/11/2018 23:40

A friend worked customer service in a supermarket.
Someone wanted to return a pick your own salad box, for having too much lettuce in.

StoppinBy · 26/11/2018 23:46

Doing an onsite function one time and find out that one of the attendees is GF, we didn't have anything GF and no one available to return to café to get anything.

Call café and they send someone in the middle of lunch service to drop off some suitable items.

I take a platter of said items out and ask the organiser who the GF person is so I can let them have first dibbs on the stuff...… only to find them eating the non GF items..... tell them 'oh no, they are not GF' only for them to say 'oh, that's ok, I can eat a bit of gluten' Hmm

Runnynosehunny · 26/11/2018 23:49

I'm not saying it's stupid but unusual-someone once ordered Eggs over medium and a boiled sausage

dontalltalkatonce · 26/11/2018 23:51

Asking for a veggie dish but with fish in it.

Fadingawayagain · 26/01/2019 16:00

One of my jobs is part time in subway, the amount of people that ask for salad on their sub, meaning lettuce 🤨 unbelievable

TillyMint81 · 26/01/2019 22:19

'Its buy one get one free but I only want one. Can I have the free one?'
'I'm not happy with this bacon. It says five slices and there were six'
