These threads are always in chat and disappear after so many days which is such a shame.

On one of the last threads was a really spooky tale, also on a camp site. A MNer and her dh had left their caravan late one evening to give the dog a last walk before bed.

They'd climbed a wall and were in a field below the campsite when they got an awful feeling. It was dark but they could still see a bit by moonlight. Te dog started acting funny and then they saw this large thing which was stalking them round the edge of the field. Big and I think walked n its hind legs.

They ran for the caravan and the thing chased them and they only just beat it back.

That's all I can remember to the best of my memory. It really scared me, there was more detail which I can't remember. Every time I go camping/caravanning and am walking the dog on my own to have a wee late at night I shit myself due to this story.

On holiday in Venice with dh, dd(2yr) and friends, staying in an apartment near san marco square.

Had put dd to bed while we drank wine in lounge, but she kept playing up, usual toddler stuff.

Took her back to bed, no lights on in room, and stayed with her for a minute (she likes to have a little chat when she can't settle). She asked me who we was in the house with us. So I listed dh, friends names etc. Then she said 'who's Buh' and kept repeating the buh sound as if she was trying to say a hard word. No friends have names starting with B, so I just said, no there's no-one here called buh.

Then she said 'who's that behind you, is it daddy?'

Honestly my blood ran cold. I turned my head around so slowly to look, adrenaline pumping, not sure whether I was going to see a burglar or dh peeping in to check if she was settling ok. No one there. So I just thought ok great, this place is haunted.

bad mother left dd to sleep in haunted room (we were sharing with her), I figured ghost was harmless enough if it had kindly waited until last night of holiday to show itself. We all survived the night Smile

helensburgh · 23/08/2014 20:29

Not seeing anything in that pic beyond what is it I'm looking for?

helensburgh · 23/08/2014 20:33

Something, I've freaked out because I've seen that pic of the thing on the ceiling before, on a thread on here ages ago, please tell me you posted it

GalaxyInMyPants · 23/08/2014 21:06

I don't see anything in the cave picture either.

Fairyfellowsmasterstroke · 23/08/2014 21:17

The cave picture isn't a woo picture.

Its a bit like the test card - just there to entertain us until something else comes along.

Lovely family Beyondthelimits

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 23/08/2014 21:23

Grin ds1 is looking straight at an orb. So DH says anyway, i say its dust!!

Fav · 23/08/2014 21:24

Like helensburgh, I've seen that photo before (which makes me sceptical about it!)

Loving this thread.

I believe I saw the ghost of a tramp that hung himself in a barn on a farm I worked at. It was silage time, late nights, I drove home at about 2am, past a creepy old barn and saw a well wrapped up man, thick coat tied together in baler twine, but no legs Shock (of course, it could have been tiredness, but I didn't know that someone had hung himself there years before)

I've told these before, but I was cleaning at a beautiful huge house in the village, in the spare bathroom, the loo was at least 12 foot from the door, I was cleaning the loo, empty house, when the light pull was pulled and started swinging madly.
Again in the house, I was hoovering and saw a person shaped shadow down the stairs out of the corner of my eye, when I turned to look, there was no shadow there!
I'm not prone to seeing things out of the corner of my eye, but at that house it seems to happen quite a bit.

SomethingVicardThisWayComes · 23/08/2014 21:25

helen - yes it was me who posted it - ive namechanged.

SomethingVicardThisWayComes · 23/08/2014 21:29

the pic of the "ghost" on the ceiling - i posted it before but have since namechanged. its a personal friend who took it - its not been widely circulated other than me sharing it here and on FB. its a genuine picture - take by someone i know.

i used to be here under a more well known name. i name change now because i was outed. this is not really an "undercover" name as still has vicar in it....my other names have no ref to vicar.
but this one does. and it was me that posted that picture on a thread in 30 days only. thats where youve seen it before.

MrsWinnibago · 23/08/2014 21:46

Something that pic looks a bit...odd because there is a sort of "fold" where the "thing" hits the corner of the wall and ceiling...

Fairyfellowsmasterstroke · 23/08/2014 21:49

Sorry to totally change the nature of this thread but I HAVE to know .................... MrsWinni have you been poo poking today?????

MrsWinnibago · 23/08/2014 21:52

Fairy Grin no! I told her to tell me if she needed to go but she sometimes goes every other day and she'd just not long gone when she "swallowed the marble" so she won't go til tomorrow! I'll update on here if it shows up!

She told me "We won't take it out of the poo if it's there will we?"

Grin
Fairyfellowsmasterstroke · 23/08/2014 21:55

Thanks for the update - people are also asking on the other thread.

Your DD has been quite a talking point!! Smile

Anyway sorry to have derailed this thread - back to woo stories now Smile Smile

MrsWinnibago · 23/08/2014 21:58

Oh have they been arguing about it? I forgot all about it to be honest! Until just now!

CalamityKate1 · 24/08/2014 08:39

Again, why is one of the black rectangles so sharp and clear?

The "ghost" is obviously a reflection of some sort.

myotherusernameisbetter · 24/08/2014 09:52

I reckon it's a reflection of those shiny metallic flower things, could the darker rectangle be from the phone shadow? Very defined edges for it to be a shadow though...

DuchessFanny · 24/08/2014 10:03

milkjet you've reminded me of our hols last year. Our family and two other families went to France and rented a big house, we all chose rooms and our friends with our god daughter who was in a travel cot took the biggest room.
After a night or so our god daughter kept talking to someone in there and our friend said ' who are you talking to baby ?' And she said - 'the lady, pretty lady !' And a few seconds later ' lady gone now'
The owners lived in the house next door and freaked out when we told them !!

DuchessFanny · 24/08/2014 10:10

Our local village pub has definitely got something going on, it's hundreds of years old and everyone who runs it/lives there/works there has an experience of some sort.
I cleaned in there for a while when short of cash and hated being in there alone.
One day I walked past the windows to get to the front door and saw a tall guy stood behind the bar, assumed it was a workman to sort pipes or something, knocked and got let in and asked the landlady who he was - she went a bit pale when I described him, she said there was no one else there with her, as we walked back in through the pub we then saw one of the chairs at a really random odd position ( think upside down and on it's side ) it was just weird !
Others used to feel someone tap them on the shoulder when changing barrels, and I've been there when keys have come off the hook on the wall and flown across the room.
They do a good vodka Zulu in there though !

LuluJakey1 · 24/08/2014 11:02

Calamity Are the rectangles not an electric ceiling fan blade and the shadow of it?

LoafersOrLouboutins · 24/08/2014 11:11

My eerie story involves tarot cards. When I was 18 I went to see a tarot reader, I wasn't sure what I wanted in life but I was about to leave my home in Devon and start Leeds uni. The tarot reader said I was going to move away and meet the man I would marry, she said he would be 'from the east' and work in medicine. Sure enough I met my (now ex) DH at uni. He's Iranian and works as a doctor. She said I would have two DDs and a DS, the DDs would come first and the DS would be a surprise later in life. I have two DDs and although the DS seems unlikely, it isn't impossible as I'm only 32! What is very strange, and with hindsight I realise she could have meant my FWB, is she was adamant there was a second 'man from the east' who also has a medical background. My FWB is of Chinese origin and works as a dentist. We're only FWB but she was convinced this man would play a large role in my life. She said I would live in France (hasn't happened yet). I would love to have another reading with her but I don't think she lives in the same house now. Great thread!

scandip · 24/08/2014 11:11

Could anyone tell me more about 'elementals'? They sound intriguing.

The stories of odd malevolent atmospheres in houses reming me of my experience at 18. It was at my friend's house. One morning I suddenly felt very frightened there. Everything about the living room became evil, really horrible. Even the Bob Marley poster looked evil! There was something nasty in the room.

My friend was asleep upstairs, so I wrote a note to him, saying, 'What's wrong with this house today?' Previously it had a normal atmosphere.

Then I said, 'It feels like someone's died. We'll find out later today what's happened.' The words kind of popped into my head.

Later that day I returned to the house to find my friend in the garden looking gutted. 'Have you heard?' he said. It turned out someone had indeed died, our mutual friend's boyfriend.

What disturbs me is why the atmosphere was so evil.

Cubee · 24/08/2014 11:32

I've posted before.

My teenage home had a really bad feeling to it. Toys would roll across the floor, the rocking chair would rock on its own and it was always freezing cold. I hated it. We all talk about it a bit now but still shiver at thr thought of the house. One of my sisters refuses to speak about the house at all. I drive past it periodically, and it almost always has a For Sale sign outside.

My littlest brother (age 2-6 while we lived there) used to see people who were not there. A sad lady who shared my name who had a 'baby in a box'. A fireman who was always in the chimney. Another lady in a hat. The one who shared my name always freaked me out, he used to play putting the baby in the box and burying it. Fast forward a few years - my baby daughter died. She was buried in a little white coffin. I think he saw the future.

Another few years after that, my parents house (my brother still lived with them too) burned completely to the ground. A different house by this time. But the fire destroyed everything - completely flat to the ground. Except for the chinmney which remained standing and in tact.
Just waiting for some real life event invovling a lady in a hat now!
