Polo based games?

Any ideas for creating a fun version of polo for completely inexperienced players (obviously reasonably competent riders)?

Is just for a change from gymkhanas, or possibly a monthly club - how difficult could it be?

I played (very badly, very briefly) at school. How would you incorporate the bit where you shove people off the line to get the ball (is it riding off? memory has failed)? Sorry, my memories of it are as very fast and very rough but that's probably because I was rubbish and school took it rather seriously!

DD has had a go at Horrseball and enjoyed it though.

There's already a game called bike polo (for not experienced riders!) with sets of sticks that are kind of half size to be the right height that I'm sure you can find somewhere online. Can't remember the rules but is a simplified version of real polo so prob provides a start for you to figure out your version. Might be worth doing as a warm up on bikes anyway if all the riders haven't played polo before so that they can practise their hand-eye coordination without clouting the ponies.

ONE recruit - three a side so only need four more people, think we can just figure out our own rules.
