Badminton report - PICS!

Hello all, this is my first Badminton as a mumsnetter, so I thought I'd do a picture report, as I have been known to do on other forums! Shame MN doesn't display pictures, but links should be ok, I think

So, we started at the end of the course and worked our way round from there. Mary King and Imperial Cavalier - shame they didn't win, but they looked to be having a jolly nice time!

Then round to the Beaufort Staircase, and Andrew Nicholson on Nereo was looking supreme as always.

William Fox-Pitt and Macchiato also looked pretty relaxed

And it was all in a day's work for Jeanette Brakewell and Chill Out Bob

Onwards from there and watched a few people over a few more fences, and then we saw this guy having a conversation with a spectator - lovely smile! Alexander Peternell, apparently, he came 38th in the end.

Then on to the Vicarage Vee, where Rachel Gough's horse decided it didn't want to jump, but had far too much momentum to stop.

The horse tried bloody hard not to tread on her though - definitely has brownie points for that!

On a bit further up the vicarage ditch, where Mark Todd and Daisy Berkeley (she who was Daisy Dick) made it look easy.

We saw a few people jumping the ditch in style too!

Onwards from there round to the sunken road, and the royalty looked a bit scary.

Then we moved on to the Lake, and found a good spot, so we stayed there until we became frozen blocks of ice! We were probably not as cold as Tina Cook though...

You can see Miner's Frolic making the fatal mistake of not getting both forelegs in front of him here.

No going back from here. They got pretty wet!

Horse and rider look surprisingly alike as they surface, I think.

She seemed in pretty high spirits all the same though.

Paul Tapner and Inonothing looked determined - a well deserved win for them.

Mary King on King's Temptress (her second ride of the day), still enjoying it.

Andrew Nicholson looking cool with Avebury.

And Jeanette Brakewell with Major Buck was the last person round, as William Fox-Pitt withdrew his second horse, for some reason.

Thanks Evil. Do you know who fell at the lake towards the end of the day? We were going past and heard a lot of 'oooh's and 'ahhh's and then it looked as though the horse went out into the stands.

Yes - that was Tina Cook (see photo above!). Very dramatic but they both appeared to be fine. I'm not sure how the horse actually got out, there was a fence there, but presumably he just barged through it or jumped it. Must have been a bit scary for the people close to it though!

Glad you liked the pics

Thanks Evil. Could have been nasty if the horse had gone right into the trade stands.
