Advice on Spanish Riding Boots

oldenglishspangles · 30/03/2010 10:52

I am interested in buying some spanish riding boots. Does anyone in the Tack Room own any? - and can give me some advice on what the fit is like. Are they quite roomy or slim fitting etc? Are they comfortable for lots of walking? Do you get them here or buy from spain? Thanks in advance.

Hello!!!

Last spoke to you on S&B!

I have some 41s for sale but might be too small for you - they are a slim fit on me, but they are not the recent toast ones, they are just your usual ones from Spain - I got them on ebay.

The toast 42s were big, but these are a bit too small for me. If you are interested let me know x

WANT

how long is it until Christmas now?

Fliight · 30/03/2010 16:19

Mitchy if you want them you can have them, well as long as OES doesn't, I have to give her first dibs since that style and beauty thread about a hundred years ago!

Also they are prob too small if I remember correctly,

be back in a bit x

Fliight · 30/03/2010 16:20

that sounded a bit, erm, free actually, I would need some money in exchange.

Did you sell the RR in the end?

oldenglishspangles · 30/03/2010 16:37

Hello Flight - how the devil are you? I would love some free boots . Sadly you remembered correctly, my dodgy hooves feet would almost certainly need a 42. So close yet so far once again . How do the ebay ones compare to the toast ones? I saw them but wasnt sure if it would be a hassle to send them back if they didnt fit. Did all your swops work out?

Oh that is a shame...the swaps didn't work very well as tose blunnies were also huge! Never mind - I sold them on ebay, which was fine.
The ebay ones are a smaller and harder and slimmer fit than the Toast ones, imo.

I bought the 41s thinking they would also be huge and therefore about right, but sadly they were completely the wrong side of 41.

So I now have a very slightly too big pair and a very slightly too small pair.

Oh well.!

MitchyInge · 30/03/2010 19:36

my shoes/boots are 38, but my calves are monstrous

was thinking you might like to swap them for that pile of shit that doesn't even start the range rover

oldenglishspangles · 30/03/2010 20:18

Flight - oh no! You sound as lucky as me when it comes to boots . I have tried wide fitting ones but they fit like wellies. Can you put an insole in big pair or stretch the small pair. 41 is generally too short in the foot for me, but a narrow 42 is often stretchable. I have stretched shoes but not boots so far.

Have you tried stretching. I am going to order some of the liquid stretch it takes forever with just the shoe stretcher at the moment.

Whats the returns policy like on the spanish site? I am wondering if it is worth ordering a 42 and seeing whether they might be stretchable.

Fliight - - i get very confused with uber contemporary spellings . range rover for a pair or boots ... not bad.

It is pronounced 'Fleet'

as in Wii

Thankyou for the links, I may try that. Mitchy you are on
you can stuff the toes with tissue you know.

OES I got mine second hand from someone, not the Spanish site - and thereofre can't really return them, but I expect the new ones can be exchanged.

oldenglishspangles · 30/03/2010 21:21

AH I get it. Will remember from now on. On the subject of a wii. There is a poster on money forum called called Igotawii or something similar. I always misread her name as Igotawili - The irony is I used to have to be good with names in a previous life. Let me know how you get on with your boots if you do decide to stretch them.

LOL
Hope you get some.

thegirlgeek · 10/06/2011 12:09

Hey,

A friend of mine recommended Spanish riding boots to me - she said they'd suit my feet really well - is this a veiled insult??? I've been told about Italian riding boots before, do you guys know the difference between the two? Someone help me out please!!
