well now what to do with my 2 lead rein ponies.....for all you who have followed my increasingly desparate tales form the tackroom about my 2 l/r ponies. Noddy went to pony club this weekend ...and was a dream, sensible to get ready, good as gold in lesson, even when one little boy fell off in a very nasty way as his horrid pony napped very badly, other ponies in the group shied / nappe din sympathy and htere was a domino effect of falling off , but no nutty noddy just stood there and Bella (DD2) stuck on . that child has a seat like superglu. he was being led by my BF who has a good rapport with him. i was asked by district commisioner " why on earth are you selling him". Older daughter had bad morning on perdy on sund but coul dbe that dd1 hormonal, me hormonal and pony hormonal ...oh dear bad combination. now do not knwo what to do. hoping perdy's old owners may buy her back ...and know really noddy has to go ...but can feel myself wavering again.

it must be v hard to decide, can the girls share one pony or is the age gap too big between them?

it is utterly out of the question to keep both?

mummydoc · 26/01/2010 14:15

utterly out of question ot keep both, and unfortunately 5 yrs between them makes sharing a bit impractical. also dd2 who is 5 is turnign into the "ride anyhting seat like superglu, lets go faster " type, she has already been asked to ride 2 ponies for other people in this yrs show season. dd1 very easily wobbled , stressy, only likes to "feel safe" type. i am tempted by idea of flog both LR ponies, get ponies on loan for kids and buy myself a 14 hh that i can ride and share with dd1 in a yr or 2. she already really needs a 13 hh. dd2 is the kinda kid who will always get a ride

Sounds like the safe 14hh to share might be the best bet. Although finding that gem could be a bit hard....I know - been there, got the t-shirt, ect.

Not an easy decision by any stretch.

Sorry, not much help there! Could you not keep Noddy for now?

mummydoc · 27/01/2010 18:11

well update is this , Perdy hopefully being sold back to her previous owners as they wan tto breed from her - hurrah. Noddy has been clipped today ( after heavy sedation by vet) and looks gorgeous and is off to a show on sunday and is in the local paper this week for sale, so if he goes he goes .If he doesn't he might well stay . just had news from DH that i overpaid my tax by 10,000 last yr so migh be able to buy safe 14 hh to share with dd1 after all. yippeee

ahhhh tax rebate - NICE

glad solutions are presenting themselves at last, excited that you will get one to share now! are you feeling a bit better too?

mummydoc · 29/01/2010 09:58

not any better - infact hole sin boobs getting bigger and futher surgery planned for after 1/2 term, i really cannot see any sensible progress with ponies and me until summer but at least everyone at yard rallying round to ensure girls continue to ride and start showing season ! but more i htink about a nice sensible 13.2 to 14 hand to share with dd1 the more excited i get, now spending alot of time on horseporn ( horsequest)

How are you mummydoc? Did the viewings go ok?

mummydoc · 02/02/2010 12:30

well I have sold perdy to alovely local family who want her as an only pony for a little 3 yr old, they came and rode her twice, perdy went so sweetly, went past tractors, diggers and 2 enormaous lorries . little girl just able to lisp out " I lub you pwerdy" , she will be loved to bits so that is great. They only want 2 of her rugs leaving me with 6 to flog on ebay - hurrah.
Noddy has qualified for the rouyal london and SWPA champs by being an absolute star at a show on sunday , so he is staying . my older daughters loan pony ( well informal type use him whenever you like type loan) is off 2 a new home next week...cue tears as she took him to show and in her first ever try got a second in veterans class, she had worked so hard washing him and cleaned his tack. the class had loads of huge hubters galloping round and she sat up really straight and trotted him round so nicely i could cry! so i am going ot start looking for a proper loan pony for her with acontract so she cannot lose out again by having people decided to give it to someone else on spur of moment.

does anyone have a nice very steady 12.2 to 13.2 pony to loan ???? would get 5* treatment but must be safe as houses for easily wobbled 10 yr old.

that's wonderful, good luck with search for steady loan pony - when you find one just watch out I don't swap our 13.2 sod scamp for it overnight
