I have added a picture on my profile page of dd's new pony. I have never seen a freeze mark like this, anyone know what it is/means?
All our others are freeze marked but all along their backs and with more letters/numbers. In case it's hard to read it says 62b.

Looks more of a branding mark than a freezemark.

Not wanting to sound totally thick but why/who would you brand a pony in this way?

Large studs? I have normally seen them in ranch type places. I have been googling to see if it refers to a specific stud/farm but have not found anything. It could just be his 'number' in a large herd.

about branding here

skankywitch · 16/06/2009 14:00

Thanks so much for that LadyOfWaffle we've never had a branded pony before. I have also been googling and not found anything, to be honest I'm just relieved someone hasn't come on and posted, Oh that means it's a completely mental pony that will tank off with your dd bucking and rearing at every opportunity
Thanks again for your help.
