Perfect your john wayne drawl to go with the walk lol

How lovely, hope you have a good time

LuckySalem · 07/04/2009 22:43

It's a 2 hour trek so I think I'm jumping in at the deep end.

Was so at the fact that I only just remembered I got rid of my jodpur boots and am going to have to ride in trainers Oh the shame!!

have fun!

I recently booked in for a trek and I had to prove I could ride before we went out - Oh how I laughed at my rattling and bumping around in the saddle after all that time off (or at least I would have if I was not too busy hiding my face in shame )

LuckySalem · 07/04/2009 22:52

LOl

It's my friends trekking centre. I'm getting free treks in return for helping out with tack cleaning and tacking up/loading clients/leading children on ponies!! lol

[saddle soap and pony sweat laden deep sigh] My idea of heaven!

LuckySalem · 07/04/2009 22:56

I complained to them so they'd think they were getting a good deal "making" me clean tack etc TRUTH is I'm never happier than sitting in the sun cleaning tack/grooming etc.

One of the best bits of not being able to ride in winter was being able to spend it in the tack room up to your elbows in leather with a single bar electric fire, hot chocolate and like minded nutters friends

Just wondering how that sounds

LuckySalem · 07/04/2009 23:13

DEFINATLY!

So, how did it go then? Are the bruises so bad you have not been able to jemmy yourself out of the bath to update us?

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 20:46

Sorry DP was off yesterday so couldn't get online.

Was absolutely brilliant.

Was given the most stubborn, strong horse going and love every minute of my arms being pulled out of their sockets not as bruised as I expected, just sore shoulders which is from trying to explain to daisy the mare that I didn't really want to that way and could she please stop trying to scrape my leg on all the walls

Going next week to clean tack

sounds fantastic! I always loved the more difficult ones - a bit of character adds spice!

So have you worked out a rate of return? It would be fab if you coul get a regular thing going, mind you, you may end up with shoulders like a rugby player if you stick with Daisy!

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 21:10

Yeh I'm gonna go each week. One week to do something for them and one week for a ride (although if they need help with a ride then it'll be more often)

I'd love to stick with Daisy if I'm honest

I am really rather envious/jealous (I can never remember which is which!). It would be so nice to strt spending time at the stables again [nostalgic sigh emoticon]

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 21:18

Well if I dont get some time for myself I think i'll go insane!! lol

Need a couple of hours where I'm not just mum IYKWIM

Phew! that's a relief you're back. I was starting to worry you'd been thrown off and killed!

(nervous rider here in case you hadn't noticed )

Glad you had a good time.

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 22:22

Nope Pixel - All safe and sound
