Looking for sharers!

We have three 14.2 ponies that my daughter does BS on, but she's currently doing her GCSEs and struggling to keep them all in sufficient work.

We're in North London and very flexible in terms of number of days/which days of the week/ which of the three the sharer wants to ride (subject to tryouts of course).

It's two geldings (a Connemara and an Anglo-Arab) and a Connemara mare. They all have lovely temperaments, but vary in level of difficulty with the mare being the most difficult (although my daughter's friend who has been helping with all 3 loved her the best 😃) and the Anglo-Arab the loveliest.

We are looking for confident teens/small adults. Pm me if interested.

Just to add, they are on 5-day livery so no mucking out duties during the week

No help with sharers - but my Anglo-Arab is a sweetheart too and always got me out of trouble when jumping. They really are a (currently) underrated crossbreed.

Aww ours is absolutely the sweetest boy ever 😍 He's so tolerant and honest and so gorgeous (inside and out).

Good luck finding a sharer. 🍀

Ahhhh so hard to find decent sharers 😥

If anyone knows any decent riders who are looking please please let me know. All the enquiries we get are from very inexperienced kids (and their parents). I don't mind a confident competent kid, but they usually have their own ponies 😂 Any good teen riders would be perfect, but unfortunately we usually get enquiries from kids who only have a bit of riding school experience.

Adults up to 5'7 (my daughter's height) and obviously in normal weight range would be amazing as well.

Our horses are really great - not ploddy cob types but very well-bred jumpers who are also great on the flat and to hack. Very nice to ride and handle.

Just to add, we're also quite normal owners (I hope 🤣) with no crazy requirements - literally just looking for a decent rider to help exercise them a few times per week.

@XelaM have you tried getting in touch with some of the local university riding clubs? They will have lots of competent riders who may well have had to sell their childhood/teenage pony and will be missing riding. We’ve got a uni student sharing my daughter’s old pony club horse - he’s not a novice ride as he gets upset if his rider isn’t balanced so we had to be careful about who we got but the girl who’s coming had her own horse until she went to uni, has done all the pony club stuff and competed up to a decent level and now just wants the chance to ride a well-schooled horse a couple of times a week. We’re not asking for any financial contribution as it’s helping my daughter out.

Thank you! That's super helpful. I didn't know there were university riding clubs in London (will look into it) but it has given me a great idea to ask the local equine colleges! We have one very close by.

I's pop a post on the BSJA facebook group - plenty of people would jump at the chance!

Hi @XelaMname changed to my public name, but I’m civil service riding club committee and we have a wide London-based membership. A lightweight vouched-for adult rider could be recommended if interested, I probably can’t post our club email here but google will work or DM me if you like.

Bumping this post again as we still have room for another sharer for our beautiful 16-year-old Anglo-Arab who is lovely to ride and handle and has a little girl sharing him twice per week at the moment. He's a full-up 148. We're in North London. Let me know if anyone is interested.
