Both Valegro and Utopia have passed away, Reading Carl’s statement it sound as though both were developing some health issues and he let them go together, very sad 😢

Lovely that they both went together and that as heartbreaking as it was to lose them, they were given a quiet and painfree end. I'm also guessing there were health considerations, especially going into winter.

Such incredible horses. So sad but how brave and right to let them both go together.

Incredibly brave and honourable decision to put them both down before they suffered. May they gallop freely together.

It made me very emotional, especially as my warmblood lovely old girl turns 22 next year. Beautiful horses ❤️

I hadn’t see his announcement. How very sad but also the kindest way for them both.

I feel so sad about Blueberry’s passing. What a horse.

Glad that he and Utopia went together.

Can’t helped but be touched by Charlotte’s announcement but feel so conflicted about all of this now.

I’m dithering about attending Aachen this year (spectator).

Recent events have taken the edge off my enjoyment I suppose.

I have a lot of love for Valegro and am really saddened by his death.

I’m sure CDJ is upset by his death because they had an exceptional bond. It’s just such a shame they are so intrinsically linked and CDJ is not the person, rider or trainer I thought she was when I saw the two of them together in 2012.
