Warm me up!

I’m already feeling the cold and it’s only November. What do you wear or have that warms you up?

Edited to add that I’m not really riding much at the moment, thanks to the children and work, so it’s mainly keeping warm and dry with the yard work.

I have a lovely warm and waterproof coat from uhip (Swedish brand) which is flattering as quite fitted. I also have a high-viz rein coat mainly for dog walks along unlit lanes which is extremely cosy (but less flattering!). My go-to cold weather riding tights are a fleece-lined pair from equetech - I’ve had them for years and they’re so comfy. I’ve also seen these heated gilets from woofwear which I’m quite tempted by.

Heated Gilet

Woof Wear Heated Gilet warms front and back in minutes. USB-powered, 3 heat settings, and a cosy lining make it perfect for cold days. Power bank sold separately.

On the top I wear one thin an then one thick thermal layer, then a wool jumper and then my stern padded jacket. On my legs I wear thick tights, long johns, my jodhpurs / riding tights and then my Stierna padded trousers. The above when it's super cold. and gloves and a wooly hat ! I really feel the cold, but that lot keeps me warm, occasionally I use hand / foot warmers too.

An equidry. I have a short one though, I found the long one too restrictive when working and my riding tights are water resistant anyway.

Another vote for Stierna. I’ve competed all night in the rain and sleet in one, and was toasty and dry throughout. I’m asking DH for Stierna trousers for Christmas. I was cold feeding the horses this morning as the temperature had dropped, but was lovely and warm in my Stierna jacket.

I wear fleece lined jodhpurs from Countrydale. And I put a pair of sheepskin boot liners in my boots (you can buy them in Sainsburys.) But the simplest, cheapest thing I do to keep warm is wear a neck buff. Makes such a difference!

Another vote for equidry coat (even though I look like a sausage in one, tall yard boots, decent hat and Lemieux waterproof gloves.

I spent all of Friday outside, with storm Amy and stayed warm and dry (still a bit miserable though)

to be fair any type of Dry Robe will be warm!! i have two from Primark a few years ago that are amazing! (& only £40 at the time)

Equidry! My daughters love theirs and they have asked for battery operated heated socks for Christmas which do look rather toasty

Dd got some socks today for her birthday. The first set of batteries has already run out. Will try again with Duracell and hope they last longer than 1.5 hours 😬. I have a heated gilet that is rather wonderful but I did still get cold hanging about a show at the weekend. Thinking I need a jacket with heated sleeves of that exists

Hopefully your DD stays in warm for longer with better batteries.

I used to have a heated gilet but it wasn’t that warm or well wired up. I’ll need to have a look to see if things have progressed over the years and better ones are available.
