Crafty Ponies LeMieux ponies

DD age 7 (but young for her age) recently stated riding and is obsessed. I have bought her Crafty Ponies for Christmas. I have been lovingly collecting them from Vinted and have for her a beautiful collection of horses, foals, tack, accessories. A really great bundle.

I’ve been so excited about giving this her. She loves playing with things like Sylvanian families, Barbies, soft toys etc so I was sure she would love the ponies.

Annoyingly, she recently visited a friend who has 2 Le Mieux toy ponies. She’s also now seen the Harlow videos promoting them. (Which is now blocked!)

DD is now desperate for LeMieux ponies specifically for Christmas.

I’m not personally a LeMieux fan (I find all the social media sponsoring off putting) plus I’ve spent all my money on the Crafty ponies and spent ages finding them, washing them etc.

But equally I don’t want to disappoint DD.

I’m also conscious the LM ones are more expensive so if I sold the CPs and replaced with LM I would get less.

Are they much of a muchness?

Please can anyone reassure me DD will love the Crafty Ponies?

I’m now doubting myself

Lemieux actually copied the idea from crafty ponies I'm pretty sure - there was a hoohah about it a few years ago. They are much of a muchness, the lemieux ones were just made more mainstream by bloody Harlow

HushTheNoise · 05/11/2025 22:08

Yes, I'm pretty sure le mieux copied them. Keep the crafty ponies ones, she'll love them!

Crafty Ponies are much better (IMHO), I think from memory the tack is easier to use or is more 'correct' with their ponies. and they also have some videos on social media.
My DD has some older ones (20 years old ish) from Laurel Designs which pre-date even Crafty Ponies, she bought one of each of her (real) ponies colourways - they used to make to order complete with markings - and a few extra ponies too, they have beautiful leather saddles and bridles, and her grandpa made stables for them too. https://www.facebook.com/laureldesignsponies/

I think your DD would likely prefer more ponies than less regardless of brand. Sounds like she will have a lot with all the accessories too. Hours of play.

The crafty ponies are the original and the best , I really don’t get the le Mieux obsession

I actually find the LM ones kind of creepy looking - is that just me?!

@tinyspiny sadly I think the LeMieux obsession is driven by Harlow etc

@AmITheProblemOne if you have FB and follow crafty ponies ( they are on insta as well ) they do lots of animated videos which are great fun ( AI I assume ) .

My 9 year old has a crafty pony and loads of tack, rugs etc. she loves it. She won a Lemieux pony in a raffle and barely plays with it. They're a similar size but I don't think the Lemieux one is as 'cute'. Although the crafty pony is a palamino the same as her real life pony so is probably why she loves it so much!

Thanks @BrickNewt
I’ve bought secondhand so managed to get a good set of Crafties, I’ve got a couple of piebald as DD’s favourite ponies are piebald.
