For a nine year old in the Durham area
could anyone recommend a good riding school please

You'd probably have better luck posting in a local Equestrian Facebook group :)

Fieldhouse Equestrian is in Howden le Wear and has a very active pony club. If that’s a bit too far ask in the local horsey Facebook groups

FieldHouse EC in Howden le Wear is the best riding school around that area. Affiliated to Pony Club with a great club who regularly reach the National Champs for a range of events. However there is a waiting list but it's worth the wait.
