Loan pony PTS

Just posting because I feel so sad. I had a lovely loan pony. I've only been loaning him part time for a few weeks but in that time my confidence and happiness generally has massively improved and I fell in love with him. He was truly a once in a lifetime horse. Calm, kind, well schooled, handsome, a real schoolmaster. Today I found out he coliced in the night and has been PTS. I feel so so sad. And desperately sad for his owner too. I just can't believe it.

I’m so sorry! The same thing happened to me with a lovely horse I loaned a couple of days ago week. So sudden and I only found out when I turned up at the yard and found she’d gone. Sorry you lost such a smashing pony.

Oh OP this is heartbreaking . So very sorry for a huge loss. Thinking of you .

Thank you both very much. I dont really have anyone else who understands. My DH is not a horsey person. I just can't believe it. And I can't believe I didn't get to say goodbye. He was wonderful.

Oh OP so sorry to hear this. Having started part loaning a few months back too, I know how much of a huge impact they have on your life and in your heart in such a short time. You must be devastated. Thinking of you
