Cost of supplements

I have a lovely but slightly moody TB mare and have added in a couple of supplements to smooth out her hormonal moments. With the lack of grass I’m also adding in a balancer and she is prone to ulcers (probably!) so has a nutraceutical for that but realise these are adding up to quite a lot on money every month- around £70!

It seems most people on my yard do similar.

Am I throwing away good money on things that have no real proof they work?

What is the norm?

I spend quite a bit on supplements. Having said that I do think some are really worth it. My mare is on a restricted diet and I now give her acid ease from Protexin. The change in her has been remarkable. I probably read too much and overthink things though!
