I’ve got a 14.2 cob currently in a 42” HY equestrian girth which is a standard girth on a wintec GP saddle. Girth is too long so I think I need to size down - while I’m at it I may as well get a nicer one. Is it worth getting an anatomical girth? Would I still be looking for the same size girth (40” to size down) if it’s anatomical or do you measure them differently? Sorry if it’s a silly question but im a new horse owner and girths were girths back in the day - but I’d like him to be comfy and there’s a lot of choice these days!

I haven’t noticed any issues with the saddle slipping. Horse does hacking and dressage mainly if that makes a difference and is currently gaining muscle

Is your current girth elastic? As if it is and you are looking at for instance, a prolite then you won’t want to size down
