Horse getting leg through 5 bar gate

As above, my gorgouse TB mare (4yr ) keeps getting her leg through the metal 5 bar gate!

Any idea what I can do to make it safe? Thinking maybe something ziptied onto the front.

I had a foal that used to do similar years ago and we put some rubber matting half way up (it was a metal gate not wood) if that's a helpful idea?

How about the lightweight but visible barrier of willow or bamboo fencing? Comes in a roll and you could just secure it with cable ties

I agree with attaching something to the gate to stop her hoof going through but you also need to look at why she is doing it.
Is she kicking the gate for attention/ wants to come in / go out .
Trying to get passing people to feed her

Rather than just physical stopping her you need to mentally stop her wanting to do it.

Thin rubber mat of some kind - not too heavy so the gate drops though!

Mine does the same occasionally and we've put this on the side facing her, and zip tied it. It's gone a bit bendy but has stopped her.

What did you put on your fence?
