Mud. Hay. Shedding. Washing machine

Please help. I've just had to drain my washing for the millionth time and clear out the voter which is a job I HATE doing. Surprise surprise it's full of hay, muddy looking sludge and hair. I try and shake if the most of what I can before it goes in but obviously stuff is still going in.

Is there a magic solution to trap it in the machine before it gets to the filter. Kids are at the stables 3-4 times a week and I do get them to rewear stuff if it's wet or covered in 💩.

And now it looks like the rain might piss off for a while we are in shedding season, I stood next to a shetland the other day and got covered in hair just from being in the vicinity.

Roll on summer!

Loads of hairproof bags on Amazon. Buy the largest size. I have Labradors so also need to sieve out the hair.

This could be life changing @muddyford thank you, I did not know they existed!

I wash my saddle cloths and fly rugs/fleece rugs in a special bag - got it years ago but can't remember where, one of the equine shops I think. Game changer!

I have the joymaney washing bag from Amazon and put all my dog beds, saddle cloths etc in it before putting in the machine. A game changer..

There is a launderette round the corner from my stables, always seeing people guiltily stuffing hairy clothes and saddle pads into the machines! It's the only way.
