genuinely waterproof riding trousers

Recently bought a pair of "waterproof" riding overtrousers, pull-on style, from Hy Equestrian. I had wet thighs after about half an hour in not very heavy rain.

Any recommends for properly waterproof trousers you can ride in ? Not too thick or sweaty.

Thanks !

Mountain Horse Polar Breeches. I LOVE them. I don't ride anymore, but I wear them for dog walks now 🤣 I've had them 8/9yrs, they started waterproof for probably 3/4 years and then I risked washing & reproofing, and they've kept going!

Or perhaps try a long riding coat? I've found that works a treat and no longer have cold thighs .

You need something with a bit of filling as kind a horses rain sheet without that space and breathability you're going to just get waterlogged. When I worked in racing so always riding in all weathers we all had ornella prosperi over trousers. The closest thing you'll get to waterproof while not being hideously sweaty

I find the equestrian stuff is never as good. I buy some taped seam walking over-trousers and pull them over my jods.
