Winter riding boots

It looks like I'm about to take on a horse share (hooray). Horse clothing seems to have moved on a lot since I last had my own (still amazed by the amount of chaps about, which were something of a niche interest in the 90s...)

I've been riding in a lightweight pair of jodh boots and sometimes chaps, but now I'm going to be bringing a muddy horse in from the fields and doing a bit of yard work- plus hacking in the freezing cold, what should I put on my feet in the cold? Ideally I want one multi purpose pair, I have quite enough sports footwear in my life already.

Generally I like short boots as I have quite small feet and bigger calves and long legs and they always fall wrong on me-but I keep seeing people in mid calf boots that are a synthetic mix which look good. Are these paddock boots? Or are those too chunky to ride in.

I don't think you can buy muckers any more 😂Budget sub £100 ideally. Thank you!

I know you say budget £100 but honestly most good quality thermal boots will be more than this. Unfortunately no horse stuff is cheap!
For yard work you can't beat Aigle ISO wellies. Thermal lined and like walking on clouds but obviously can't ride in them so I have the Ariat thermal lined riding boots. Hate cold toes!
