UK holidays

Hi all,

Myself and my teenage daughter (nearly 16) are interested in doing a horsey weekend break together in the UK. Budget not huge and ideally would like it to include horse care as well as riding / hacking. We've both been riding regularly (she's much better than me!) and regularly care for a horse. Ideally a couple of hours max from South Yorkshire would be perfect but further also possible. Looking for somewhere with great horse welfare standards, guides/instructors etc but not too advanced for me.

Any ideas / recommendations would be fantastic. Thank you xx

Would be a bit further away… but Glen Tanar in Scotland, don’t do horsey holidays as such but you can stay on the estate, and tailor some hacks/lessons as much or as little as you want. Some of the best hacking in the country.

Bilsdale Riding Centre in Yorkshire is very good.

Murthwaite Green or Cumbrian Heavy Horses on the Cumbrian coast are both excellent though neither include horse care.

Murthwaite specialise in beach rides though you can book private full day or multi-day rides to suit your level of riding and fitness.

The Heavy Horses do beach rides or farm/fell rides mostly.
