Warning about ordering from Equus

For some reason they are not able to fulfil orders. It seems that the stuff on their website that appears to be in stock is not actually in their possession. Then they fob people off for weeks and months with excuses and no refunds.

I've just spent a lot of money here and it doesn't look as if they are fulfilling orders at all right now. I wish I had seen the many, many complaints on their SM before I ordered 🙈

The horse and hound forum is a good place to post about things like this, or search for info on businesses before you order. I hope they fulfill your order or refund you soon

Oooh, thank you for this! I was thinking about placing an order for travel boots from them - won't now!

Sorry to hear you've been treated badly, I hope you get your stuff through soon.

Thank you for your replies. My daughter has only recently started riding so those are good tips. I need to be more careful in the future.

My understanding of this Equus company is that they were previously reliable but something has happened to make their service go bad.

They are the first company that comes up for me if I google riding clothes etc.

Oh really. I ordered from them at Christmas with no issues at all.

They have put a post on their Facebook page, talking about supply issues. Could be something to do with having left the EU. Some people have theorised that they are about to go under and are therefore allowing people to place orders so that they can use that money for cash flow, temporarily.

Either way, it's not good enough to take someone's money when you know that you may not be able to fulfil that order.

I ordered and returned an item to Equus. Very little response from them when I asked for update on refund a couple of weeks later. Eventually I claimed back from Paypal. Took about 6 weeks in total from returning item to getting refund.

I ordered new boots for my daughter earlier this year and they did take a long time to arrive.

I have ended up opening a case with PayPal and ordering the items from somewhere else. I do hope you receive what you ordered.

Yesterday, I received an email from Equus saying my order would be dispatched 'soon' but when I asked when exactly, I received no reply.

In the future I will only use PayPal for any order!

I still don't have the order. Waiting on PayPal to resolve.

I received an email from Equus saying that they often can't fulfil an order for 10 weeks! There is no way they should be sitting on peoples money for that much time.
