Fractured Pedal bone

My daughter’s much adored 12 year old pony went lame two days ago. Three vet visits and one farrier check, and she has suffered a fractured Pedal bone. My ten year old is devastated, as it looks like a 2/4 month box rest situation. Has anybody else had any experience with this?

Someone at my yard fife, prognosis is really good with appropriate rest, this was well over a year ago and although they’re now at another yard, I believe the horse is recovered and going strong.

I had a horse with this years ago, plenty of rest and a gradual rehab and he was back to full work.
