CCTV for your horses

Does anyone monitor their horses remotely by video? If so, what would you recommend?

I’ve recently moved mine home and it would be lovely to keep an eye on them remotely. Just making sure they are actually in the field during the day and in the shelter at night.

At our recent livery, I highly doubt anyone bothered to check on them after about 6pm, but I always feel I need to go out and make sure they’re basically still there and alive at 11pm every night.

This would be so much easier remotely. Does anyone have recommendations for a camera suitable for a field shelter where there is no mains electric (we use solar or battery at the mo)? I just want to be able to check on my babies without trudging through the mud and rain 4 times a day. 😩

I use Reolink I bought them off Amazon and have my whole place wired up and they work off solar. Great for foaling and knowing when someone needs hay and for when you're not at home. But also I got a bit obsessive at the start but calmed down now!

I like my Reolink too, depends on your set up how many cameras you would need to actually see them though. If multiple then might be worth getting a farm security type company to set up one SIM card camera and dongle type thing to bounce the signal through a few cameras. If wifi doesn’t reach would need a SIM card for data….
