Pony reins with grip

DD needs more grip on her reins when out hacking especially in the rain. The pony is not naughty but enjoys a good canter...
A friend has recommended Eventa reins or continental reins. But we need these in pony size.
Are there any pony sized reins people would recommend for hunting / hacking please?

I think racing reins are the best by miles, as long as her hands aren’t tiny - they are thick, pony racers wear them so assume pony sizes exist! Maybe speak to Gibsons?

Be careful with rubber reins unless your DD is very gentle with her hands. Easy to really yank the mouth with rubber reins. Rubber on one side only would make them slimmer, but still a bit easy to yank. Perhaps look at plaited (thought can be chunky) or some with evenly placed stoppers on (can't think what they're called).

Webbed reins! It came to me 😁 curse my menopausal brain. Go for the kindest, minimal upgrade in grip first to which she's currently using, rubber if nothing else works...

They're called continental reins.

That's right, thank you and can be webbed or leather 😊
