...to hold my mare's front leg up so I can treat a wound on hind end when he's here? Never had to entertain the idea before but struggling to find someone to help and he's due anyway 🤔

No. Your farrier will do it. My grandad was a farrier and he did a lot more than that for his owners.

McNeddy · 17/10/2022 21:04

Oh thanks, that's good to know. Don't want to overstep as he's fabulous!

Goodness no. Mine wouldn't blink at that. He has helped me with much more.

Bambam2019 · 18/10/2022 19:53

Mine would be fine with that!

DeanStockwelll · 24/10/2022 20:12

As long as you are not expecting him to trek across a muddy field or the treatment is going to take ages I certainly can not see why he wouldn't do it

longleggitybeastie · 24/10/2022 20:58

He didn't bat an eyelid Grin
I just wondered whether it would affect his insurance cover or something, but obviously he wasn't at all worried. Thanks all Smile

Name change fail. Ho hum

DeanStockwooooo · 24/10/2022 21:28

I did wonder 😁, slight name change here too.

I am glad he agreed with no fuss , I hope your horse's leg gets better soon

longleggitybeastie · 24/10/2022 21:34

Biddie191 · 25/10/2022 13:46

Most farriers are fab, and very helpful. Glad he is too, and hope your mare's on the mend soon x

Wallywobbles · 25/10/2022 14:21

Mine gets them in and puts them out afterwards. Farriers are pretty unique.

longleggitybeastie · 25/10/2022 15:16

Wow Wally I'm not sure many do that! Yours is possibly very unique, I'd hold on tight Grin

krustykittens · 08/11/2022 18:13

When I hurt my back in a car accident, my farrier caught my ponies for me and turned them back out and didn't charge me extra! He's a lovely man.
