Driving a 4 tonne lorry

I don't have a c1 license so can't drive my lorry. Does anyone have any tips for the quickest, cheapest, easiest way to get my c1 license?

Can you get the lorry down-plated to a 3.5T lorry? Do you need the extra payload? I don't think there are any shortcuts to getting the C1 licence unfortunately.
