Riding tights for slim teens

Dd12 is 5'3 but all legs and very slim. Fed up of returning riding tights that are either huge at the waist or too baggy on the legs at least from the waist down. Sizing down means they don't pull up enough and she prefers a higher waist. Any ideas? For slim fit tights? Ideally with a phone pocket.

DD’s 5’8”, size 4 and all legs - her favourite riding tights are Blackfort equestrian and Vivendi compression leggings. Most of the brands aimed at teenagers rather than adults should be a better fit. She does need a belt for her competition breeches though as we’ve not found any that don’t fall down

My teens love the Practical Horse Company leggings and they are very reasonably priced.

They also have some of the Mochara leggings which are fab too but thicker and more like gym leggings.

I’m a skinny distance runner type and Aztec diamond fit me best

Mine loves her (size xs) le mieux but they are £££ so birthday or Christmas presents only!

We have both size 4 and 6 base layers but wasn't sure if the xs in the bottoms would still be a bit big. She's always worn a bigger size on top. Annoyingly everything actually aimed at teens come in 11-12 or 13-14. One is too small and the other huge.

Can't get my head around the sizing. Stops at 10-11 for kids then jumps to adults which is 6-8 or a teen option which I assume then would be 4-6 but they don't clarify that. They do say they come up large though so too hard to work out what's best 😆

@liveforsummer they are fine on DD, with other brands she needs a stretchy belt. She wears xs base layers as well.

Gs equestrian own brand riding tights are great for my skinny teen. Good price too and you get a first order discount if you sign up to their newsletter. Oh and you can donate to RDA at the checkout too!

Equithème do very nice lightweight ones. DD 11 is "small woman" sized.

I looked at those but like some other brands that we've tried they come in age 10-12 or 12-14 one being too small and the other way too big. The ones that come in waist/inch sizes are out of stock. What size does your dd have and what height is she?

She's 5'6 really slim and size 6 in those ones. Ladies small sizes are often actually slimmer than age 13-14 kids. They are also longer which helps.

liveforsummer · 11/06/2022 19:46

I was wondering if that would be the case. It's a shame they don't do xxs which is size 4. Your dd is a bit taller so not sure if a 6 would still be too big. It's all the pricier brands though that seem to supply the teen sizes. Such an expensive hobby 😆
