Querying final livery bill

We have decided to move DDs pony off our current livery yard for various reasons and gave notice yesterday. We are paid to the end of the month and will likely leave for our new yard then, paying the remaining notice period which runs into May. No issue with that as its what I expected.

However we received the final bill last night (they work fast!) and as well as the 2 weeks in May, it includes a yard compulsory worm package of 3 egg counts plus a wormer totalling over £50. We have only done 1 count so far at the start of this month and are waiting on the results. It was due to be billed in full on our May invoice.

Would I be unreasonable to expect the rest of the package to be provided for us to take to our new yard if we pay for it as part of our last bill? Or for the cost to be reduced to only the 1 count done? I need to query it and can see them being awkward about it so just wanted to sound out if either option sounded unreasonable before I reply.

Thanks 😊

Neither option sounds unreasonable but to be honest, is it worth having a potentially difficult atmosphere in the last few weeks of being on the yard for the sake of £50?

I assume the price is worked out on everyone in the yard contributing so I’d just suck it up and pay it .

I queried it before anyone replied and I get the 2 count kits to take when we leave. They don't have the wormers until they get them from the vet in the autumn but I can contact them then to pick one up. It's fine as we are staying local and can do that but if I hadn't asked I doubt they would have offered that info and for anyone relocating that might not be an option. So I will be paying it but making sure we get the items. Won't make a difference to any atmosphere as we are the bottom of the pecking order when it comes to service anyway which is partly why we are moving.

I'm surprised at the people who would be happy paying for a service they couldn't use - horses are expensive enough without paying double for a worming programme! The cost is a direct recharge of the package offered by a local vet used by most of the liveries.
