New pony on its way. 14.2. How much should I budget for a saddler to come up and fit with a dressage saddle? TIA

I’d say at least £600+ for a fairly basic dressage saddle plus saddle fitter’s time. But you could spend £3-4,000 depending on what you go for (or anything in between!). Much more important than brand or looks is that the saddle fits both horse and rider

Yep echo the above! Depends on brand hugely! A wintec V a Butet is going to have thousands of pounds of difference!

But I’d personally allow about 1-1.2k

I’d compromise on brand, material and age, and concentrate on a master saddler doing a proper fit, followed by a refit within 4-6 weeks.
Assuming they are happy to supply second hand, then around £1k for a leather, middle of the road brand in nice condition.
Don’t forget to cost in your short dressage girth & your dressage saddle cloth Smile
