Saddle/Saddle Fitter

I wanted to get peoples opinions please as to whether it is worth buying this saddle or just to start completely afresh

Mare has been pretty much out of work so has changed shape/needs to shed some pounds (like myself) Wink the saddle which is available with her is an expensive saddle but would need re-fitting (for initial work) then re-fitting again (once she has lost weight).

I don't know whether to just get a saddle fitter out to start afresh and not purchase the current saddle with her.

Either way I am going to have to have it re-fitted when she has lost weight but it's an expensive saddle so could be kept long term.

I am not sure of the best course of action initially whilst she is a bit porky.

Any thoughts appreciated please.

I think either way, you will need a saddle fitter out whether you decide to buy the current saddle, or opt for a different one.

I would contact your saddle fitter and ask them to check the current saddle in terms of suitability/ adjustment / fit. Whilst they are there, you could then take a look at the saddles they have to see if any of them would be more suitable, and discuss the best option for you and your horse.

Good idea, I think that’s the route I will take, thank you
