Hi,
My d, 9, loves riding and did it foe 2 years now. She would love to join a pony club which is very active and has weekly activities. Do you know of any around Oxfordshire or around ? That would be really helpful. Thanks Smile

There are two types of Pony Club membership - branch or centre.

PC branches are for riders who have their own pony (which includes ponies on full loan) and access to transport as rallies may well be held at several different venues.

PC centres are typically based at larger riding schools and will usually offer stable management sessions and/or ridden activities alongside their normal lessons. Most centres will focus on the younger, less experienced riders so for example at the ones near us you could do up to your D test as a centre member but they wouldn’t be able to take you any further.

You can find your nearest branches/centres here. Once you know if you need a branch or a centre, then call the DC of a couple of the nearest ones and ask them what they offer.

Unfortunately we're not in the area, although my daughter rode at the Waterstock riding centre once when we visited Oxford and I found it excellent. Not sure if they're a PC centre though.

And if the PC centre is big enough it goes all the way up to 25-years, so it's not just for younger kids. My daughter's PC centre does all levels up to A. It definitely doesn't stop at D test. But we're in London.

@XelaM that is exceptionally unusual for a PC centre to be able to train riders without their own ponies to A test standard.
The average over the past ten years is less than 10 passes across all UK branches and centres per year, with only 1 in that timescale listed as being affiliated to a centre rather than a branch.
OP i would follow the link above posted by pleasedontdothat, and enter your postcode, and don’t be put off if they only offer tests up to D standard.

To be honest I don't knowif TP have any passes at A level, but my daughter is currently doing Gold with them having done D+ and they are most certainly doing C and B levels. But TP is not just a Pony Club Centre, but also a livery yard
