Body protectors

Hi, I'm a newbie to the horsey world and was hoping for some info.

DD is starting riding at school and has been told to get a level 3 (purple label) body protector. They all seem to have 2009 on the label.

However, level 3 in the shop has a blue label and 2018 on the label. Is this just an updated version? Or different? Better? Worse?

Stables are closed for the school hols so not able to ask them directly.

I hope you get what you need. When I bought one for DD a few weeks ago, I was told that there’s a national shortage of body protectors. My usual place said it would be months before they got new stock. Luckily we found a place while on holiday that had a suitable protector!

Supposedly a big shortage of hats and body protectors due to Brexit import hassles, according to our local saddlery.

We must have lucky! Went to the tack shop this afternoon and they'd had a delivery of body protectors this morning. Got everything we need now (to begin with anyway....I can see this getting expensive)

Oh that's interesting. I've a brand new body protector that I was thinking of selling. If there's a shortage it's a good time to get it on eBay

Also interested that there is a shortage as I have some to sell. See you e had your question answered and bought now but yes, you're right. It will get expensive, very expensive! Wait til dd wants the latest stirrups and a selection of riding tights, hoodies, jackets, country boots, short boots, chaps, long boots, sparkly hat ... 😭
