Best place to find a pony share?

I’m looking for a 1-2 day a week share of a lead rein/1st pony type. All the ads local to me seem to be for flashy 16hh+ horses and I was thinking that maybe I am looking in the wrong place? So far I have tried online at preloved etc Or perhaps it is not possible to find this kind of share?

I don’t have the time or the finances to buy a pony, and the riding schools local to me won’t take younger children at the moment. So a share would be a great option to allow my very keen DCs regular riding.

I have had my own horses in the past and so am experienced enough to look after a pony and support the DCs in the basics ( would get an instructor to do some lessons too)

I would find the horse facebook page for your local area and put up a wanted ad.

There'll be people out there with suitable small ponies I imagine. Put an ad out locally, ask tack/feed shops etc.

Would it be for more than one child? I expect a few people may be a bit nervous of that set up.

Hmm It would be for 2. Although 1 is much keener than the other. DC1 would be happy with a 15 min walk out on the lead rein once a week. DC2 would be the regular rider. Do you think this would be too much?

Obviously if both suddenly start wanting to do lots then it will need rethinking.
