Insurance and horse share

DD has an opportunity to share a horse from a local rescue place. They are clear that they do not provide insurance.

What’s the situation with insurance? They ride out on roads so would it be advisable for me to take out public liability insurance?

I’ve seen club type offers, eg Harry Hall that include public liability - are they a good idea? harryhall.com/horse-public-liability-insurance

Yes I would say so - I go with BHS gold membership which includes personal injury cover as well as public liability but there are lots of similar schemes with various other benefits. Bear in mind it only covers your DD and third parties, not any injury to the horse itself, and also won't cover her if she's working in any capacity or being paid to ride, as it's only leisure riding it covers.

Thank you, that’s really helpful
