I bought a 15" second hand wintec for our flat-backed 12hh Welsh pony and got the saddle fitter to come and have a look; she said he needed 14" instead (which I agree with) and to try and find a second hand wintec when I could; not urgent as rider is tiny/2.5 stone.
Turns out 14" second hand are like rocking horse shit
and six months on, still haven't found one. I bought a little suede 14" XW unbranded as the old wintec isn't smart enough for shows but it's too wide even though we have the XW gullet in the wintec
So I need to suck it up and buy a new saddle. Is wintec my only option for a black new 14"? We'll be doing local level showing (veteran, show hunter lead rein) and I know Havana is traditional but he's grey (white apart from his hocks) so I prefer black on him. I have black bridles, too.
