Casual riding jacket recommendation

Hi all - I ride weekly at a local stables, and currently not allowed to have lessons so saving quite a bit of money. I’d like to spend some of this on a new riding jacket so I feel less scruffy. Any recommendations? Something with pockets, and not too long as I have a short torso 😀

I have a shires that I think must be about 12 years old and will survive neuclear holocaust.

I really like the Ariat soft shell ones

Got DD a Le Mieux jacket—quite expensive, but keeps her warm up in NE Scotland and has lasted. Only annoyance is there isn’t a hood.

Hoods aren’t recommended on riding coats as could get caught on something if you fall off.

I do like the Ariat soft shell. I've never had a soft shell coat before but looks warm (and I always get warm after the first 5 minutes anyway!)

I got dd a rydale coat. More out of circumstance as bomber styles at a reasonable price in kids sizes seem hard to come by but it's actually a beautiful coat and I now fancy one for myself
