How long does it take to purchase a horse?

Paid the deposit, Vetting certificate came yesterday, strangles result came back today negative, funds are ready to be transferred and we are available all week to collect him, but we've been told by owner that we can't collect till Monday afternoon. Her reasoning behind this is that one of her horses is in a competition at the weekend, and would be distraught if parted from the horse we are supposedly purchasing, and would perform badly in competition.
She demanded full payment 2 days ago, we said no and that we won't pay until the day of purchase for obvious reason. She finally agreed with this, but is still acting very dodgy.
This is my first time buying a horse, I'm not sure how long the process is supposed to be, but in my opinion, it's becoming very prolonged. I have a slight feeling I won't end up buying this horse as I feel she'll pull out from the sale. We need to purchase him by Thursday next week, as the vetting will be classed as invalid by the insurance!
I cannot wait for this to all be over!

I take a box with me on viewings! Caveat that nearly every horse I’ve owned has been a from the trainer ex racehorse. So I’ve not Bothered getting them vetted...

I’d basically ask for a time on Monday you can go or you’ll be looking elsewhere. If she’s still wishy washy that probably tells you what you need to know!
