So I have a horse on a small private yard. Ive come down with a cold sore throat and keep coughing. Ive got to have a test tomorrow. Obviously I will still have to care for my horse, what are the rules on this? I am pretty sure I dont have covid but getting tested just incase

Strangles?
Sorry just kidding.

Is it just you on the yard ? If not you probably need to get another owner to help out for now

Deliaskis · 29/09/2020 15:51

In this situation we are asked not to come to the yard, and to ask another owner or the YO to carry out the care until we are clear.

Did your yard not discuss how this would be handled back at the beginning of lockdown? We aren't allowed on our yard if we have symptoms -- we even made up a buddy chart of who would be on call for whom if someone was isolating (although I don't expect the majority of yards went this far!).

You need to speak to your YO and ask for suggestions.

The rules are you have to isolate. Someone else will need to do your horse. The rules don't change depending on what you have to do. You need to isolate.

Ahh, just noticed you posted Saturday so it's too late for 'what to do' advice anyway.

Did you get your test ok?
