Hello all,

Some members of our little herd are now teenagers. We don't have any problems with their joints as yet, although we here the odd click from the knees from time to time, and they all live out so are moving around as much as possible. But I have been told by other horsey people that is wise to give them some kind of joint support supplement once they hit their teens so I was wondering what your guys feed and what you consider to be the best stuff. And for myself - I definitely have problems! I had pain in my fingers last winter for the first time ever, my two rings fingers didn't straighten out all winter and now I have a bone spur on one. Frankly, I am terrified as my grandmother was crippled with arthritis and I am worried I am going to end up the same way. Anyone else have this problem and what do you find gives you ease?

Turmeric. There are both equine and human supplements.

Im afraid I don't have advice for a human supplement, but I give my 16 y.o mare this which I've found very good: www.equimins-online.com/en/all-products/46-equimins-flexijoint-cartilage-supplement.html

I also give her the hoofmender, gut balancer and vitamin and mineral supplements.
