Hey! So have had 3 lesson so far, and feel my confidence levels going up!
At the moment I am borrowing the riding schools, boots and hat. I am just wondering when to buy my own hat and boots? Can anyone suggest where to get them as well? Thanks

Where do you live? In the SW we have a chain of Mole Valley Farmers shops which do good value riding kit. Countrywide are also good. Don't go to a proper tack shop as most of it is overpriced.

I'd be keen to buy a hat ASAP at least as you don't know if the school ones have been dropped or fallen on (although a good school should replace ones that have had an impact as a result of a fall). It's also other people's sweat on your hair 🤢🤮🤢

@sanityisamyth I'm in east anglia! I don't want to spend a massive amount if I can help it!

This is the hat I use (m.molevalleyfarmers.com/h5/r/molevalleyfarmers/mvf/store/products/competitor-jockey-skull-cap;jsessionid=7CC3D171F36E25E3C4B02A719D5B2B96) as it fits my shape head. It's really important to have a hat properly fitted but most shops with an equestrian department will be able to do this. Ask your instructor/stables owner where they'd suggest to go as they'll know if there's a more reasonable shop nearby :) good luck.
