Am I mad? Yard A or Yard B

Went to view new yard yesterday... will call them yard A and yard B... tack room jury ... help me decide!!

Yard A
Bad points;
Further away
More money
Fencing questionable
Clay mud

Good points;
Good hacking
Good school
Few liveries
YO was lovely
Liveries can help each other, YO happy to assist

Yard B

Good points
Nearer
Cheaper
Very good hacking

Bad points;
Crap school (dangerous- so cant ride during the week in winter)
YO questionable
No assistance unless absolute emergency

How far away are each of them?

Difficult YOs can make the whole thing utterly miserable.

A without a question. Fencing is easy to remedy.

A without a doubt unless the reduction in cost is worth not being able to use the school. But it's the assistance/nice people that would count most for me

Yard A if the fencing issue could definately be fixed. If not I would look for a yard C.

Yard A is another 5 miles, but it's a fast road, so doable.

YO questionable is the clincher given that you will be there are least twice a day every day. Also the school.

So, Yard A (notwithstanding any secret crazy rules like all horses in by 2.30pm sharp on a waning moon.)

Another vote for Yard A.

If my current YO left and went elsewhere, I would have to either follow her, or rent my own yard somewhere!

It sounds like your gut is pulling you towards A - definitely worth listening to that inner voice.

Another vote for A - on the grounds that a dodgy YO can make your life on a yard an absolute misery. Plus the no-assistance thing also has the potential to be a PITA.
